India Fence Expo 2026 opens in New Delhi as India steps up focus on advanced perimeter security
Dr. B. K. Das, Director General, Electronics & Communication Systems, DRDO, inaugurates the 4th edition as Chief Guest
New Delhi, September 10, 2026: As India strengthens security across critical infrastructure, borders, data centres, transportation networks, industrial facilities, utilities and strategic assets, the country’s perimeter security ecosystem is rapidly moving towards smarter, integrated and increasingly indigenous technologies.
Against this backdrop, India Fence Expo (IFE) 2026, India’s premier for integrated perimeter protection, opened today at Yashobhoomi (IICC), Dwarka, New Delhi, bringing together the technologies, companies and stakeholders shaping the next phase of perimeter protection in India.
The 4th edition, being held from 10–12 September, was inaugurated by Dr. B. K. Das, Director General, Electronics & Communication Systems, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Government of India, as Chief Guest.
Addressing the industry at the exhibition, Dr. B. K. Das, Director General, Electronics & Communication Systems, DRDO, said, “If we are secure, we can grow, and security is a prime concern. The future is moving towards electronic and increasingly invisible security, driven by spectrum dominance, space-based systems, networked environments and artificial intelligence. Looking ten years ahead, Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) will play an increasingly important role. Platforms like INDIA FENCE EXPO bring industry, startups and technology stakeholders together to discuss today’s solutions and the technologies needed for the future. DRDO has done considerable work in anti-drone and surveillance systems, and I am confident industry will take these technologies forward.”
Sonia Prashar, Managing Director and Chairperson of the Board, NuernbergMesse India, said, “Security is no longer an afterthought in how we plan our infrastructure - it is foundational. As India invests across critical and strategic infrastructure, perimeter protection is evolving from physical barriers towards integrated, intelligent solutions. Through INDIA FENCE EXPO and this industry report, we aim to bring the ecosystem together, provide greater market direction and support the industry’s next phase of growth.”
