Inauguration ceremony of self-propelled onion harvester at GNA University

Jalandhar, August 26, 2021: GNA University inaugurates the Self-Propeller Onion Harvester created by the Engineering students of the University. Akshay Sangwan, Director Development & Commercial Sonalika ITL & Executive Director Sonalika Industries/ICML was the Chief Guest for the inauguration ceremony along with Rajesh Thakur, Director Operations Sonalika Agro Industries Cooperation. 

The Master of the Ceremony, Dr. Disha Khanna, Dean Faculty of Liberal Arts gave bird’s eye view of the self-propelled vehicle via the video showcasing the making of the harvester machine by the dtudents.

Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the Pro-Chancellor & the CEO GNA Group inaugurated the Self-Propelled Onion Harvester along with the dignitaries of Sonalika Group. 

Vivek, one of the B Tech Mechanical & Automation Engineering students elucidated in detail the working of the machine to the dignitaries.

Akshay Sangwan, the Chief Guest commented, “I feel happy and indeed satisfied in sponsoring this vehicle. Sonalika Group stands proud in funding such capable engineers for their projects.”

S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the Pro-Chancellor & the CEO GNA Group expressed, “GNA Group is always there to assist students financially when it comes to serving the society at large. I feel proud to see my students working on such interesting & useful projects.”

Dr. VK Rattan, the Vice-Chancellor GNA University said, “GNA University always strives hard to achieve excellence via rendering practical training to its students & the making of this Onion Harvester is one live example.”

Prof. CR Tripathi, Dean Faculty of Engineering Design & Automation said, “I acknowledge the presence of dignitaries from Sonalika Group for transforming the design of students into physical & workable vehicle. I even congratulate every faculty member & Lab technicians in accomplishing this project.”

During the Vote of Thanks by the Master of the Ceremony a bunch of balloons were released by the sponsors from Sonalika & GNA Group to mark the success and hard endeavours of the brilliant engineers.

The inauguration was witnessed by Dean Academics, Dr. Monika Hanspal and the Deans from the other departments with full zeal and enthusiasm.
