In view of upcoming monsoon season, MCL sets up flood control room

Ludhiana: In view of the upcoming Monsoon season, the municipal corporation (MC) has set up its flood control room to tackle any emergency situation in the city. The MC’s flood control room has been set up in the Daresi Ground area, that would remain operational 24X7 till September 30, 2020.
    MC Commissioner Mr Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal informed that the high-risk areas where waterlogging is a major problem during rainy days, problem of garbage lifting, Budha Nullah etc, the officials would immediately inform the concerned CSI, JE, SDO and Executive Engineer (XEN). The officials would ensure that the problem is resolved and would intimate the control room accordingly.
    He informed that 242 officials have been deputed in areas facing water accumulation, two poclain machines, JCB machines and tippers have been deputed for cleaning of Budha Nullah. He said that the officials would also patrol the Budha Nullah during monsoon season. He said that the control room number is 01614085039.
