Ludhiana, Sep 17, 2025: In a heartfelt gesture aligning with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's "Mission Chardi Kala" initiative, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Wednesday announced that whole income from the prestigious Saras Mela-2025 will be donated directly into flood relief funds to support Punjab's recovery from the recent devastating floods.
Jain emphasized the Chief Minister's clarion call to citizens across the nation to rally behind Punjab which has faced widespread devastation due to the unprecedented flooding. Saras Mela-2025 will embody this spirit, with its theme serving as an ode to the indomitable Chardi Kala ethos of Punjabis rising above adversity with unwavering optimism and strength," Jain stated. He added that this commitment builds on the district administration's earlier pledge to donate revenues from the Daily Star Nights program toward flood relief efforts. Now, extending that solidarity, the entire net income from Saras Mela-2025 will be diverted to the cause.
