Rohtak, March 28, 2024: Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda has said that the ensuing Lok Sabha elections are not about victory or defeat, it is a fight to save democracy and the Constitution. Addressing the first joint workers conference of India Alliance in Rohtak, he said that the INDIA alliance will win this battle by fighting with full strength.

The conference was organized by Aam Aadmi Party state president and Kurukshetra Loksabha candidate Sushil Gupta. Besides Deepender Hooda, Congress MLA from Rohtak Bharat Bhushan Batra, Kalanaur MLA Shauntla Khatak, CPM leaders including Inderjit Singh and Jagmati Sangwan also present. All the leaders sought votes for Deepender Hooda from Rohtak and Sushil Gupta from Kurukshetra Loksabha seats.

All the speakers termed the arrest of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal as condemnable and also invited the public for the rally of India Alliance to be held in Delhi on March 31 against the arrest.

Addressing the workers, Deepender Hooda said the time has come to compare the work of Congress and BJP in the last 10 years. “Despite being in opposition for 10 years, Congress is still seeking votes in the name of its works, while BJP does not have a single work to show, though they have been in power for the last decade. BJP only wants to win elections by misusing agencies. But the INDIA alliance and the people in Haryana will give a befitting reply to all the political tactics of BJP,” he said.

“This time, BJP's exit from Haryana will begin with the results of the Lok Sabha elections, because this government has not only cheated every section of Haryana, but has also brutally tortured them. The government lathi-charged every section of the society, including farmers, employees, sarpanch, MNREGA workers, Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, mid-day meal workers and sanitation workers, who were peacefully protesting for their legitimate demands,” he added.

Deepender said the 10-year tenure of the BJP government in the state and the country is full of failures. “Haryana, which was number one in per capita income, per capita investment and employment till 2014, has become such that today there is an unemployed youth sitting in every house,” he stated.

In his address, former Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Gupta said that Aam Aadmi Party workers will work shoulder to shoulder with Congressmen, to make Deepender Hooda win from Rohtak. “A big victory for the INDIA alliance is certain from here. Some parties will enter the election field at the behest of BJP to cut into the votes of INDIA Alliance, but the public will teach a lesson to BJP and its hidden allies by the power of their votes,” he stated.

Gupta said that BJP is shocked to see the strength and victory of the INDIA alliance, which is why Opposition leaders are being targeted with by the investigating agency. “Sending the Chief Minister of Delhi to jail is the result of this conspiracy. It is clear from the action of completely crushing the Opposition that BJP does not believe in democracy,” he noted.
