In a first: Shalby Hospital, Mohali launches ‘Prostatic UroLift’ procedure

Chandigarh, July 28, 2023: In a first in this region, Shalby Hospital, Mohali has launched ‘Prostatic UroLift’ procedure which is likely to be a boon for thousands of patients suffering from BPH.

Talking to media here on Friday, Dr. Priyadarshi Ranjan, Director, Prostate Excellence Centre and Meliora Kidney Institute at Shalby Hospital, who has successfully conducted the Prostatic UroLift procedures said that this non-invasive non-surgical treatment is a breakthrough for symptomatic prostatic enlargement which affects millions of men worldwide.
He further said that the ‘Prostatic UroLift’ procedure is a non-invasive option that offers quick relief without causing any complications or hospitalization. Medications for BPH such as Urimax Tamsulosin, Sildosin lead to psychosexually disturbing side effects and its difficult for younger patients to continue them for lifetime, Dr. Ranjan maintained.
