IMRAN Khan fascinated by Karan V Grover’s role in Punarvivaah

Imran Khan with Punarvivaah leads Shrishty rode and Karan V Grover.

“It’s rather intriguing that a man should set out to get his own wife remarried!” says the actor

When actor Imran Khan recently landed on the sets of Zee TV’s primetime soap ‘Punarvivaah … Ek Nayi Umeed’ to promote his upcoming release ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai 2’, he just thought he’d deliver his lines, shake a leg and leave. Instead, he found himself rather fascinated and intrigued by the plot of the show.

Imran told actor Karan V Grover who plays the main lead Raaj in the show, “I think your role in Punarvivaah is most fascinating. A man setting out to get his own wife remarried after their divorce is a very unique circumstance … something one doesn’t hear or read about everyday. It would be interesting to dwell into the dynamics between the two that lead up to such an unusual event.”

Imran adds, “What appealed to me the most was the idea of two people who have chosen to separate as a result of their incompatibility and yet continue to cultivate a dignified, cordial relationship post their divorce – the fact that the man would care enough to set out in search of a suitable groom for his ex-wife speaks volumes about how there can be positivity between two people even if their marriage has ended. This is a progressive thought and I’m glad to see television mirroring the changing times!”

Karan V Grover said, “Imran Khan is a youth icon and represents a modern school of thought. The kind of films he associates with reflects his modern, young sensibilities. His feedback to me about the show and my role in particular was most heartening. It’s great to know that he thinks our show encourages progressive thinking!”

Imran who plays the character of Aslam in ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai 2’ has shot for a dance number to the famous song ‘Taiyab Ali’ with Surbhi Jyoti who plays Zoya, the lead of ‘Qubool Hai’ which will be a part of the Mahasangam episode of ‘Qubool Hai’, ‘Connected Hum Tum’ and ‘Punarvivaah … Ek Nayi Umeed’ on Thursday, 11th July at 9:30 PM only on Zee TV. Don’t miss this action-packed episode where the stars of all three shows come together in a dramatic turn of events!
