IKGPTU welcomes IAF Induction Publicity Exhibition Vehicle Drive –XVI at its Main Campus

Jalandhar/Kapurthala, August 14, 2025: An Induction Publicity Exhibition Vehicle Road Drive –XVI was jointly organized by Indian Air Force (IAF) for the students of I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) Main Campus and its nearby schools. IKGPTU welcomed teams & hosted the Indian Air Force (IAF) Induction Publicity Exhibition Vehicle Road Drive -XVI (part of the DISHA initiative) at University Main Campus, Kapurthala. The opportunity to experience a real-time flight simulator and an inspirational conversation with the IAF team from Adampur Airbase and New Delhi were highlights of this program. Around 280 students of +11,+12 & NCC Cadets  from Nearby schools & around 670 University students attended the event.


Dr. Navdeepak Sandhu, Registrar cum Deputy Director (T&P), started the event with a cordial welcoming address. He shared his vision by words towards career opportunities available in IAF. During the event the officials visited the office of Vice Chancellor IKGPTU and interacted with Vice Chancellor IKGPTU Prof Dr Susheel Mittal. VC Dr Mittal congratulated the IAF officials for this initiative & appreciated their efforts.

The prestigious event brought together students, faculty, and esteemed officers from the IAF, offering a unique opportunity to explore career prospects, technological advancements, and life in the IAF. The event was graced by Gp. Capt. Jasvir Singh Sohi, Sqn. Ldr. Abhimanyu Kadiyan, Flt. Lt. Gursharn, Flt. Lt. Kanishk Mallik and Flt. Lt. Vishesh Chaubey, who interacted with students, shared their experiences and provided insights into the thrilling and challenging world of IAF.


The officers guided students on the subjects to be selected, career opportunities, and the selection procedure for different IAF branches. They described in detail how to go through the different rounds. They also addressed the various queries raised by students and cleared their misconceptions.


With its AI-driven defensive technologies, aircraft simulators, and interactive displays, the IPEV provided pupils with a firsthand look at contemporary military innovations. Students hoping to join the IAF were also given thorough information on the National Defence Academy (NDA), the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT), and Technical Entry Schemes. Advanced IAF Technology Exhibition: The IAF's state-of-the-art technology was demonstrated through models of fighter jets, helicopters, missiles, and radar systems.


Participants included students from Sainik School, MGN Public School, Anand Public School, Little Angels Co-Ed School, SGHPS, School of Eminence (Randhir School) and Bawa Lalvani Public School in addition to students from several streams at IKGPTU Main Campus.  Through the tour of the Publicity Exhibition Vehicle, the students were able to learn a lot about life in the IAF.
