IKGPTU Signs MoU with ICT Academy to Strengthen Industry-Academia Collaboration

Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) Jalandhar, Kapurthala, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICT Academy with the objective of strengthening industry-academia collaboration and creating enhanced opportunities for faculty development, skill enhancement, research and industry-oriented academic initiatives.

Jalandhar/Kapurthala, August 18, 2026: I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) Jalandhar, Kapurthala, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICT Academy with the objective of strengthening industry-academia collaboration and creating enhanced opportunities for faculty development, skill enhancement, research and industry-oriented academic initiatives.
The MoU was signed by Prof. (Dr.) Yadwinder Singh Brar, Vice Chancellor, IKGPTU. On this occasion Dr. Navdeepak Sandhu, Registrar, IKGPTU, and Er. Mohit Jain, Assistant Registrar, Corporate Relations & Alumni were also present. VC Prof. Brar said that this academic MoU will support IKGPTU students & faculty towards new growth and high spirit. Registrar Dr Navdeepak Sandhu congratulated the team corporate relations office for this academic initiative.
Representing ICT Academy, the delegation included G. Sarvanan, AVP – Academic Operations also signed on the MoU. Lovetesh Kumar, Sr. Manager; and Babar Nazir and Abhinav, Relationship Managers – Punjab, shared the details of this MoU.
Under the MoU, IKGPTU will serve as a Nodal Institution of ICT Academy, facilitating technical and soft-skills training programmes for faculty members of the University and its affiliated institutions. ICT Academy will provide industry-relevant training in ICT domains, access to learning resources, domain-specific programmes led by industry experts, research opportunities and industry inputs for curriculum development.
The collaboration will also support the joint development of new courses for teachers and exploration of ICT-related research areas aligned with evolving industry requirements.
The five-year MoU represents an important step towards strengthening technology-driven education and building stronger linkages between academia and industry. Through this partnership, IKGPTU aims to provide its faculty and students with greater exposure to emerging technologies, industry practices and skill development opportunities.
