IKGPTU Hotel Management students got 3rd position in food and nutrition show

Jalandhar/Kapurthala, November 23, 2021: I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) students of the Hotel Management Department have secured 3rd position in the Food & Nutrition show organized at Pushpa Gujral Science. The winning team is from the third year of B.H.M.C.T. course of the department. The names of the winning students are Kansha and Shivam. The show was organized in association with Punjab Agro Export Corporation Limited at Pushpa Gujral Science City with an aim to create awareness among the young generation about food with good nutritional values. The winning team was felicitated by Dr. Neelima Jairath, Director General, Pushpa Gujral Science City. She said that food, health and nutrition are an integral part of life. Choosing healthy food, eating nutritious food and enjoying a variety of foods is the basis of healthy human life.
IAS Mohammad Tyeb, Special Secretary, Punjab Finance Department was the chief guest on the show. The food show was judged by renowned Chef Nelu Kaura and Chef Vishwadeep Bali. A total of 04 teams from the University participated in the show which included students of Akanksha and Shivam (3rd year), Keshav and Sandeep (1st year), Varinderjit Kaur and Raman (3rd year) and Lalit & Karan (2nd year). These students had prepared a variety of dishes including Pan Put, Chocolate Puchka, Bread Snacks, Stuffed Mushroom Duplex, Vitamin Oats Dosa etc.
Assistant Professor Kanwal Thakur guided the students in the competition. University Registrar IAS Jaspreet Singh, Dean Academics Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Chawla, Head of the Department Rajnish Kant Sachdev has congratulated the winning team.
