IKGPTU Hoshiarpur Campus organized Rs.2000 Carnival

Hoshiarpur/Jalandhar, February 21, 2024: I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) Hoshiarpur Campus organized Rs.2000 Carnival. Its objective was to inculcate the spirit of entrepreneurship among the students and inspire them to start a business with less investment.

The "Carnival 2000" was conceptualize by the team under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal, Vice-Chancellor of the University. The stalls related to different professions were set up by the students and practical demonstrations were done on food and other commercial activities. Mr. Rajesh Kumar Dhunna, Principal of Pandit Jagat Ram Government Polytechnic College, Hoshiarpur joined the event as the Chief Guest. Campus Director Prof. (Dr) Yadwinder Singh Brar encouraged the students and welcomed the Chief Guest.

A total of 12 teams were formed in the carnival. A total of 50 students participated in these teams. During the carnival, various commercial stalls were set up by these students by investing 2000 rupees. Meanwhile, they also presented an example of joint commercial venture. The stalls offered cold drinks, sandwiches, country food like Makki Di Roti-Sarson Da Saag, cheese bread and sandwiches, Dahi-Bhalla, Sweet Corn masala, Behl poori, Spot game stalls, Mehandi and Fruit Chat. On the occasion of the carnival, the campus director Dr. (Prof.) Yadwinder Singh Brar told the students about business needs, the importance of entrepreneurship and career-oriented environment. He inspired students to become employers.

The winning students and all participating students were felicitated with medals, trophies and certificates by Director Prof. Brar and the Chief Guest Principal Rajesh Kumar Dhunna. University Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Susheel Mittal, Registrar Dr. S.K Misra congratulated the Hoshiarpur Campus team for this successful event. In the end, Director Prof Yadwinder Singh Brar thanked all the faculty, staff and students for successfully organizing the carnival.
