IKGPTU conducted Student Induction Program (SIP) 2026 successfully, concluded with teamwork message

Jalandhar/Kapurthala, August 31, 2026: I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU), Kapurthala Main Campus, organized the Closing Ceremony of the three-week Student Induction Program (SIP) 2026 for the newly admitted Batch 2026–27 on Monday. The Student Induction Program was conducted from 10 to 31 August 2026, with around 600 freshers participating enthusiastically in various academic, co-curricular, cultural, value-based and personality-development activities.

The closing ceremony was attended by Dr. Navdeepak Sandhu, Registrar; Dr. Yadwinder Singh Brar, Dean Academics; Dr. Satvir Singh, Dean Student Welfare; Heads of the various academic departments; faculty members, officers, volunteers and newly admitted students.

At this ceremony, Prof. (Dr.) Yadwinder Singh Brar, Dean Academics, delivered the opening remarks and congratulated the students on successfully completing the three-week SIP. He appreciated their active participation and encouraged them to make the most of their university journey through learning, participation and continuous self-development.

Dr. Satvir Singh, Dean Student Welfare, also addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of active participation in campus life, healthy interactions, co-curricular engagement and the overall development of students.

Delivering the valedictory address, Dr. Navdeepak Sandhu, Registrar, shared valuable insights with the students and encouraged them to focus on developing an all-round personality. He emphasised that students should give due importance not only to academics but also to co-curricular activities, interpersonal skills, values, confidence and other dimensions of personality. He encouraged the students to prepare themselves for life as a whole, observing that such holistic preparation would naturally make them better prepared for the world of work and future careers.

The ceremony also featured student sharing, screening of a documentary on the Student Induction Program, cultural performances, group photographs and a vote of thanks. The event concluded with the National Anthem.

The three-week SIP provided the freshers with an opportunity to become familiar with the university environment, build meaningful peer and faculty interactions, explore their interests and strengths, and develop a broader perspective towards university life. The successful completion of the program marked the beginning of their academic journey at IKGPTU with a focus on holistic growth, responsible participation and readiness for life. This complete three week programme was successfully coordinated & executed by the team of Academic department (Admission Cell), Jatinder Narula Programmer UHV Department & his team with dedicated support of Student participants.
