IKGPTU became first State Technical University to upload 2,75,000 Student's Academic record over NAD Portal

Jalandhar/Kapurthala May 28, 2019: With a task to provide maximum digital Academic facilitation to its students through technology, I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University Jalandhar-Kapurthala set another milestone. This time University ties with National Academic Depository (NAD) and uploaded a high number of academic credentials over NAD portal. Till now, University provided 2.75 lakh of student’s academic record on NAD portal. It is a record data uploaded by a state Technical University, even the University is also ahead of many other Universities of India, who are providing Academic Records like Diploma / Certificates/ Mark sheets online through NAD portal of MHRD, Govt. of India.
Sharing this achievement, University’s Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma said that now the passed out students can download their academic records online and even the Employers can also verify their company/institution's employees record online. VC Prof. Sharma said that students admitted under IKG PTU needs to register under NAD portal compulsorily from this academic year and should provide the NAD registration details to the University when asked for it. From now onward it will be a set practice of IKG PTU after the University Convocation is over and degrees are awarded.
He shared that University enters into MOU with CDSL for this task and became first University to upload ODL Academic records on NAD more than 50000 awards. He said that due to NAD forgery with documents will end, verification become very easy nationally and internationally, no risk of losing the documents, Documents are just one click away from students round the clock and throughout the world. It will save the time of long process of verification and authentication
Prof. (Dr.) Sharma said that NAD is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India to facilitate digital issuance, storage, access and verification of Academic Awards issued by various Academic Institutions. NAD is a unique initiative towards achieving Digital enablement of the Education Records. This touches the lives of Indian youth and empowers them with Digital, Online, Trusted, Verifiable Certificates which are accessible in a secure manner at all times.
Nodal Officer of NAD Assistant Registrar Rishi Gupta shared that University uploaded a huge number of academic awards within two months & UGC recognized IKGPTU's participation. He also shared that IKGPTU has appointed NAD coordinators in it's affiliated colleges to facilitate students. University will also conduct awareness workshops on it. He said that to handle all the NAD related queries; University established a separate NAD cell at its main campus.
