IKGPTU Affiliated Colleges Chairmen Join Hands for Quality Education Mission

Kapurthala/Jalandhar May 1, 2018: To establish a milestone in Quality Technical Education, I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University has taken one more initiative by proposing a joint venture to all its Technical Institutions to provide quality education. Newly appointed Vice Chancellor Prof.(Dr.) Ajay Kumar Sharma presided over a meeting of all Technical Institutions Chairmen at IKGPTU Main Campus on April 30. The agenda of the meeting was increasing meritorious admissions in affiliated colleges, Improvement in Joint Campus placement, fulfillment of requirements & support to provide qualified faculty and to motivate all institutions for the accreditation. This was the first time when more than 40 Prominent Personalities of Education Sector were present at one platform.

During his address to all invited Chairmen, Vice Chancellor Prof.(Dr.) Sharma said that there is a huge and ultra modern infrastructure available to provide best technical education to worldwide students in our state. State's Technical Institutions are more capable to serve maximum quality students in Engineering & Management, but the principle of joint efforts needs a push. Vice Chancellor Said that after evaluating the capacity of University's affiliated institutions/own campuses, it is observed that this is the right time to give a buzz to all authorities to take maximum initiatives to admit meritorious students. During his address to All Chairmen, Vice Chancellor assured that University is fully in support to them by taking maximum initiatives to establish a milestone in Technical Education for this academic year 2018-19.

Elaborating the Agendas, Dean Academic Dr. Balkar Singh Said that University is going to start quality publicity campaign to support its institutions. He Said "We are also giving provision of break in continuation & restoration of the programmes as AICTE norms, also working to start of new demand based skill oriented courses keeping in view of the requirements of the industry and society."

During the meeting question-answer session was also held in which Chairmen shared their views, experiences and demands. University authorities answered their queries.

University Registrar Dr. Amanpreet Singh welcomed all Chairmen in a formal way and Dean P&EP Dr N.P. Singh read formal vote of thanks.
