IKG PTU Empowers Students with Expert Talks on Emotional Intelligence and AI-Driven Leadership
The Centre for Extension and Outreach Activities (CEOA) of I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), Main Campus, Kapurthala has organised expert talks on April 7 and 9, 2026 as a part of the Mentoring and Professional Development Activities, aimed at enriching students with contemporary knowledge and essential life skills.
Jalandhar/Kapurthala, April 15, 2026: The Centre for Extension and Outreach Activities (CEOA) of I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), Main Campus, Kapurthala has organised expert talks on April 7 and 9, 2026 as a part of the Mentoring and Professional Development Activities, aimed at enriching students with contemporary knowledge and essential life skills. Ankita Mahajan, Assistant Professor at Sardar Beant Singh State Technical University, Gurdaspur, was the Resource Person. She has conducted insightful sessions on the topics “EQ: The Double-Edged Sword” on April 7 and “Synthetic Empathy & Leadership in the AI-Driven Era” on April 9.
Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal, Vice Chancellor, IKGPTU, appreciated the initiative and highlighted that in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, competencies such as emotional intelligence and empathetic leadership are as crucial as technical knowledge. He emphasised that such sessions play a vital role in shaping well-rounded professionals who can effectively navigate the challenges of an AI-driven world.
Prof. (Dr.) Y. S. Brar, Dean Academics remarked that the integration of emerging themes like emotional intelligence and artificial intelligence in academic discourse is essential for holistic student development and aligns well with the objectives of modern education.
Students from diverse academic disciplines, including Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Food Science & Technology, Journalism & Mass Communication, Management Studies and Hotel Management have actively participated in the sessions. The lectures were highly interactive and engaging and the contemporary relevance of the topics captivated the students throughout.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Kapil Gupta, Assistant Professor and Coordinator, CEOA who expressed gratitude to the resource person and participants for making the sessions a success.
