IK Gujral PTU organized Inter College Cross Country Competition at CT Group of Institutions

CT Group of Institutions won the Second place in Boys Category while Shalini Sharma won the first place in Girls’ Individual Category
Jalandhar, October 7, 2017: Under the aegis of IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU), CT Group of Institutions organized Inter College Cross Country Championship at its sprawling Shahpur campus for the session 2017-18. Large number of spectators witnessed dazzling display of sports wherein 10 boys and 6 girls teams belonging to different colleges affiliated under IK Gujral PTU including CT Group of Institutions, Shaheed Udham Singh College of Engineering & Technology (SUSCET) Tangori, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC) Ludhiana, Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) and others participated with zeal and zest.

The event was started with the flag off by Dr. S. S. Randhawa (Assistant Director Sports, IKG-PTU) along with Dr. GS Kalra (Director Campus, CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur) and other dignitaries from CT Shahpur Campus. The competition was of 12.50 Kms as the route of the Competition started from CT Shahpur Campus to White Diamond and then ran back to the campus for finishing point. Shalini Sharma (CT Group of Institutions, Jalandhar ) won the first, Sukhdeep Kaur won second while Gurvinder Kaur won the third place. In Boys Individual Category, Hardeep Singh (CT Group of Institutions, Jalandhar ) became the winner, First Runner- Up was Jasmeet Singh (GNDEC, Ludhiana) and Second Runner-Up remained Harbir Singh (LCET, Ludhiana).
Dr. S. S. Randhawa (Assistant Director Sports, IKG-PTU) (Assistant Director Sports, IKG-PTU) stressed on the importance of sports activities in the individual’s life. S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group) thanked the IK Gujral PTU for choosing their campus for such a prestigious competition. He also appreciated the volunteers for joining hand with the institutions for this noble cause by motivating society towards sports. It has truly spread the message of the relevance of sports.
