IIT Roorkee Hosts ANRF Research X Impact Conclave 2026 to Advance Research Visibility, Collaboration and Impact
Conclave brings together researchers, ANRF grantees and young scholars with 127+ research showcases across diverse disciplines
Roorkee, Uttarakhand, August 8, 2026: IIT Roorkee, in association with the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), organised the ANRF + IIT Roorkee Research X Impact Conclave 2026 at IIT Roorkee. The day-long programme brought together ANRF leadership, faculty members, research grantees, postdoctoral researchers, doctoral scholars and young researchers to promote research visibility, interdisciplinary collaboration and societal impact.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. K. K. Pant, Director, IIT Roorkee, Prof. Ponnurangam Kumaraguru, along with senior Institute functionaries, faculty members and researchers.
Built around the idea that excellent research must not only be undertaken, but also communicated, connected and translated into impact, the Conclave provided a platform for researchers from diverse disciplines to interact, exchange ideas and explore collaborations. A major highlight was the ANRF Grantees Meet-up, featuring 50+ short research presentations spanning fundamental sciences, advanced materials, AI and electronics, biotechnology and healthcare, infrastructure, climate and hydrology, earth sciences, renewable energy and environmental sustainability. The programme also featured a hands-on session on SARAL AI, highlighting the use of technology to disseminate research across formats and languages and make scientific knowledge accessible to wider audiences.
Research showcased during the Conclave included work on quantum materials, superconductivity, sustainable catalysis, drug delivery, Alzheimer’s disease, smart-health monitoring, methane emissions, antibiotic contamination in river systems, perovskite solar cells, lithium recovery, sustainable infrastructure, electric-vehicle technologies and next-generation wireless communication. The programme also included a hands-on session on SARAL AI, focusing on research dissemination across different formats and languages. This emphasis on communication aligns closely with IIT Roorkee’s broader efforts to enhance the visibility of its research. Under the leadership of Prof. K. K. Pant, the Institute has increasingly encouraged researchers to communicate their work beyond conventional academic publications through digital outreach, including platforms such as YouTube, to showcase research achievements, innovations, technologies and the work of faculty members and young researchers.
The Conclave also featured an Open Discussion with ANRF on “Identifying Future Research Priorities: Challenges and Potential Solutions”, providing faculty members and researchers an opportunity for direct interaction with ANRF on emerging research areas, challenges and opportunities for strengthening the national research ecosystem. The programme concluded with the PhD Student Poster Walk and Interaction, featuring 77 posters and interaction with expert evaluators. The poster session covered an equally wide spectrum of disciplines, including architecture, chemical and civil engineering, earthquake engineering, electronics, renewable energy, mechanical engineering, chemistry, biosciences, computer science, photonics, physics, earth sciences, hydrology and water resources.
In total, the Conclave brought together 50+ rapid presentations and 77 posters - 127+ research showcases in a single day. More importantly, it created a platform for researchers to discover each other’s work, identify new collaborations and communicate complex research in a concise and accessible manner.
The ANRF + IIT Roorkee Research X Impact Conclave 2026 reinforced IIT Roorkee’s commitment to linking research excellence with visibility, collaboration and impact, while providing greater exposure and interaction opportunities to both established and young researchers. The initiative reflected the larger objective of advancing knowledge dissemination, collaboration and research impact across IIT Roorkee, ANRF grantees and the wider research community.
