First project with IIIT-H’s Centre for Visual Information Technologies, will explore maximum information extraction from 2D images
Hyderabad, December 21, 2017: IIIT-Hyderabad signed an MOU with Honeywell Technology Solutions Lab (HTS), the technology development and engineering arm of Honeywell,to work on a series of joint collaborative projects.

This is part of IIIT-H’s initiative to productize research that’s relevant and useful to society at large. The project will be in the field of computer vision, image processing and analytics helping industrial customers drive higher productivity, and involves technology and manpower commitment by Honeywell Technology Solutions.

Speaking at the signing of the MOU, held recently, P J Narayanan, Director, IIIT-Hyderabad said, “IIIT-Hyderabad is looking forward to collaborating with Honeywell, a Fortune 100 company with strong expertise in multiple engineering areas. IIIT-Hyderabad believes strongly in applied research and this is a great opportunity for us to take our research from lab to land”.

Akshay Bellare, Vice-President and General Manager, HTS India says “We are deeply committed to strengthening the science and technology backbone of India, which has been the reason for the success in recent years globally. We have been in Hyderabad for more than a decade and have worked closely with universities, including IIIT -H, all along towards this imperative.
