IDPD condemns US – Israel attack on Iran – Calls for immediate cessation of war

Ludhiana, March 1, 2026: Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) condemned the attack on Iran by the US and Israel. This attack is totally unprovoked and at a time when the US and Iran are holding talks to reach an accord on the Iranian nuclear programme. In the statement Dr Arun Mitra - President IDPD and Dr Shakeel Ur Rahman – General Secretary said that this is a clear pointer to that the US was never serious about the talks. This also amounts to bullying the world by the US who is persistently spending huge amount on its nuclear weapons programme and the arms race around the globe.
It is to be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Israel and this war started immediately after his return. In his speech Prime Minister Modi did not utter a single word of condemnation of Israeli aggression on Gaza killing over 70000 people including more than 20000 children.
They said, "We appeal the UN to intervene immediately and stop this war which could otherwise have serious repercussions for not only the Middle East but the whole world."
