IDPD condemns killing of Iranian General by the US

Ludhiana: The Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) has strongly condemned US attack that killed the army general of Iran.
In the statement issued here on January 4 Dr Arun Mitra-Co President International Physicians for the Prevention of nuclear War (IPPNW), President of IDPD Dr S S Sodan and General Secretary Dr Shakeel ur Rahman said that this is an act of aggression and amounts to declaring war which can have serious consequences not only in the already volatile Middle East region but all over the globe. This will give alibi to the lobby within Iran which proposes to go ahead with the nuclear weapons. This will also give an excuse to other countries to continue with their nuclear weaponization program. It is unfortunate that US had earlier backed out of the deal with Iran and closed all doors for dialogue. Whereas we appeal to Iran to keep calm at this moment and use diplomatic measures, we urge the Indian government to take initiative for the resumption of dialogue between Iran and the USA. It is important that all the peace loving forces stand united and condemn any such design of aggression over any other country.
