ICSI launches two new certificate courses

Hyderabad: The Indian Institute of Company Secretaries of India(ICSI), the premier national professional body announced two new Certificate Courses.
 
These two courses include: Certificate Course on Foreign Exchange Management Act(FEMA) and Certificate Course in Goods & Services Tax
 
FEMA deals with provisions relating to procedures, formalities, dealings etc. of foreign exchange transactions in India.
 
The Course on GST gives a comprehensive insight about principles of GST as well as other nuances of the indirect regime.
 
Announcing this, Ashish Garg, National President of ICSI interacting with media one the sidelines of Yuvotsav-2021, 21st National Conference of Student Company Secretaries, he shared that they also Model Governance(Panchayat Governance) Code for Meetings of Gram Panchayats and also Charity Governance
 
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), Ashish said is a premier institute in India and acclaimed for promoting excellence in Corporate Governance through its various efforts and measures taken for the advancement of the governance in corporate world.
 
That is why ICSI has come up with a “Model Governance Code for Meetings of Gram Panchayats” which seeks to prescribe a set of principles for convening and conducting meetings of Gram Panchayats and matters related thereto.
 
So also with Charities. As more and more companies are working on their CSR funding, it has also become very important he said.
 
We have also translated these codes into 12 Indian Regional Languages including Telugu said.
 
Speaking further he added that like any others institutions we too at ICSI had struggled to carry out our activities. But, fortunately we could successfully conducted online classes for 75000 students and conducted exams also.
 
During the pandemic we have organised 60 webinars to engage our members and students.
 
We have expanded our study center’s to reach out more. We have 72 chapters, 135 study center’s. We have added 50 new center’s in the pandemic, Ashish shared.
 
Speaking about  ICSI- Centre of Excellence (CoE), which are set up to promote and develop research and training for our students are being expanded now. We are coming up with two Centres of Excellence one each at Gurgaon and Kolkata, he said.
 
The New state -of –art, well equipped Centre of Excellence (CoE) will cater to the increasing demand of research, orientation, adaptation, humongous needs and enhanced demand for world class training and development.
 
Needless to mention, it will also act as a support system to the various governments, regulators, statutory bodies and the industry at large, by coming out with quality study papers
 through empirical research methodology.
 
First time in our history we are doing a Hybrid Convocation at four different cities simultaneously including at Hyderabad on 18th January. Hon’ble Vice President, Shri Venkaiah Naidu expected to grace the same at ITC Kohinur at  Madhapur, shared Ashish Garg.
