ICAR-CIPHET organised National Webinar Series `Expertopedia' 

Ludhiana, December 10, 2021: ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology, Ludhiana organized National Webinar Series 'Expertopedia' on 10, December, 2021 to celebrate 75 years of the Indian Independence “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” and the event consisted of two expert lectures. The first one was on Status & Scope of Non-Thermal Technology in India by Dr. C. Anandharamakrishnan, Director, NIFTEM-T, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. He highlighted the participants about the huge market potential of processed food products and how non thermal processing plays an important role to make India the Food Factory of the World. In the second lecture, Dr. P. Srinivasa Rao, Professor, Agricultural & Food Engineering, IIT Kharagpur, enlightened the participants about the application of non-thermal processing technologies like High Pressure Processing (HPP), Pulse Electric Field (PEF) and Ultrasound Processing in fisheries and diary sector. He also shared the recent developments in the area of non-thermal processing as well as future research opportunities in this area. Dr. Nachiket Kotwaialiwale, Director, ICAR-CIPHET and Convener of the webinar, thanked all the participants and experts for active participation and anticipated that these technologies can bring real change in the Indian Food Industry. The session was coordinated by Dr Yogesh Kumar and Dr Renu Balakrishnan. About 260 participants attended the webinar series.
