ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana took active part in the CII Agro Tech India 2022, the premier Agri and Food Technology Fair being organized at Chandigarh during November 4 to 7, 2022.

Ludhiana, November 4, 2022: ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana took active part in the CII Agro Tech India 2022, the premier Agri and Food Technology Fair being organized at Chandigarh during November 4 to 7, 2022.

The event was inaugurated by Vice-President of India Jagdeep Dhankar. Governors of the States of Punjab and Haryana were also present in the inauguration ceremony. All the dignitaries emphasized the importance of post-harvest processing and related technologies for sustenance of agriculture. Honorable Vice-President of India praised Indian Council of Agriculture Research for its multifarious contribution to the agriculture and allied sector.

ICAR-CIPHET exhibited various post-harvest technologies in the form of charts and models and explained them to various visitors. Entrepreneurs and startups promoted by the institute were also given space for display, demonstration and sale of their products and machinery. ICAR-CIPHET also acted as a knowledge-partner for the "Indo-German Innovation Pavilion on Post-Harvest Management". The Institute promoted exchange of knowledge and discussed various avenues for hand holding of various startups in the field of post-harvest management, in order to reduce losses especially in the crops like potato, tomato, onion and apple. The stalls of ICAR-CIPHET were visited by many stakeholders like prospective processors, machine manufacturers and different business groups having interest in the area of post-harvest processing of various agriculture commodities.

On this occasion, the Institute also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce for exchange of knowledge and extending support to the new industries in the post-harvest management sector. The MOU was signed by Dr Nachiket Kotwaliwale, Director, ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana and Indras Ghosh of Indo-German Chamber of Commerce. Dr DN Yadav, Head Transfer of Technology Division, ICAR-CIPHET and Dr Ranjit Singh, Principal Scientist also actively participated in the event.
