Ludhiana, September 26, 2026: ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology (ICAR-CIPHET), Ludhiana, organized a three-day skill development training programme (23rd-25th September) for SHG members and managers of Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) associated with honey-processing units of CGMFPFed, Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
The training was held on “Application of Beeswax for Development of Wax-Based Cosmetic and Value-Added Products” under the collaborative project “Research, Development & Capacity Building Activities on Processing and Value Addition of Forest Produce of Chhattisgarh State.” The programme focused on helping participants learn how beeswax can be processed and used to make useful products such as cosmetics and other value-added items. The participants attended expert lectures, visited industries, and took part in demonstrations and hands-on practical sessions. This provided participants with knowledge and practical skills related to beeswax processing, purification, cosmetic formulation, value addition, labelling, and regulatory requirements.
The training program was coordinated by Dr. Th. Bidyalakshmi, (Scientist), Dr. Sandeep P. Dawange (Scientist), Dr. Sandeep Maan (Pr. Scientist), and Dr. Manju Bala (Pr. Scientist). Dr. Nachiket Kotwaliwale, Director, ICAR-CIPHET graced the inauguration ceremony on 23rd September, 2026, and interacted with the participants, appreciating their enthusiasm. He emphasized the importance of beeswax processing, value addition, and product development, which can create additional income and entrepreneurial opportunities for people involved in forest-produce and honey-related activities.
The participants expressed their gratitude to ICAR-CIPHET and the organizing team for providing them with valuable technical knowledge, industrial exposure and practical training.
