Ludhiana, June 20, 2026: ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana organized a live telecast of the release of the 23rd Instalment of PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi on Saturday, observed as PM-KISAN Utsav Diwas. Prime Minister’s graced the event held at Tarakeswar, Hooghly, West Bengal. During this event, approximately ₹18,000 crores was directly transferred to the bank accounts of nearly 9 crore eligible farmers through DBT. Live telecast arranged at ICAR-CIPHET was attended by 150 farmers (117 male and 33 female), a village head and institute scientists.
The program was organized under the guidance of Dr. Nachiket Kotwaliwale, Director, ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana and Dr. Ranjit Singh, Pr. Scientist and Head, TOT Division by Dr. Rahul K. Anurag, Senior Scientist, Dr. Vikas Kumar, Scientist (Senior Scale) and Dr. K. Bembem, Senior Scientist, TOT Division.
Dr. Kotwaliwale chaired the event and attended PM’s live telecast with farmers and staffs. He encouraged the farmers to take care of soil health, use minimal fertilizer in line of central government initiative, Khet Bachao Abhiyan. Message of Agriculture Minister, Govt of India and Director General, ICAR were shared with farmers. Expert talk on minimal fertilizer use was also shown to the participants.
