ICAR-CIPHET grants license Taro peeling machine to Ludhiana based firm

Ludhiana, October 20, 2022: Taro contains alkaloid-containing mucus just behind the peel which cause itching to skin when in contact. Manual Peeling could easily lead to itchy skin besides that due to long contact time of peeled taro with air, oxidation takes place & taro becomes yellow which results in the change of colour and flavour.  Keeping in view the above facts ICAR-CIPHET Ludhiana developed the taro peeling machine with a capacity of 100 kg/h along with peeling efficiency of 95%. Harinder Singh, Proprietor  A. B. Engineer’s Ludhiana approached CIPHET for this technology. Dr. Sandeep Mann, inventor of this technology assured him that all possible help will be extended for establishment of processing unit and start-ups. Dr. Ranjeet Singh, Alternate I/c ITMU facilitated the licensing process.  Dr. Nachiket Kotwaliwale, Director, CIPHET Ludhiana awarded certificate of licensing to the entrepreneur.
