ICAR-CIPHET grants license of makhana processing machineries to Bihar based firm

Ludhiana, February 14, 2023: In recent years price of makhana has increased due to increase in demand from domestic as well as foreign markets. Makhana presently is processed by traditional method which is laborious, time consuming and causes injuries to the processor’s hands as it involves handling of hot roasted nuts manually. Makhana processing is popularizing day by day and has a very bright potential. The prominent technologies viz. preliminary roaster for makhana and makhana popping machine were transferred to Shahid Pervez, Director Agrofarm Solutions Pvt. Ltd.,Bihar who has approached ICAR-CIPHET for licensing of this technologies. Dr. S.N. Jha, DDG(Engg.), ICAR New Delhi and key inventor of the technology along with Dr. Nachiket Kotwaliwale Director, ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana awarded licensing certificate to the entrepreneur in presence of other dignitaries.
