I S Dev Samaj Judokas win inter school judo tournament
Chandigarh, October 7, 2019: Judokas of I S Dev Samaj Senior Secondary School, Sec 21, Chandigarh have clinched the overall trophy in the Inter School Judo Tournament, held at Sports Complex, Sector 34 here. Many schools from Chandigarh took part in the tournament. The Inter School Judo Tournament saw a participation of 200 judokas The judokas of I S Dev Samaj School, scored 27 points and won 3 Gold medals, 2 Silvers and 6 Bronze medals. For I S Dev Samaj School, in the U 14 age category, Nirmal Singh of Class 7 got Gold, in U 17 Vinayak Chawla of Class 11 got Gold and in U-19 Ashish Goud of Class 11, again got a Gold. In U 17 Varun of Class 9 got a Silver while in U-19 Satish Gupta of Class 11 got a Silver. In U-14, Abhinav Mandal of Class 11 and Narinder Singh of Class 6, in U-17 Jasmeet Singh of Class 11, Devansh of Class 11 , Ashish Sharma of Class 10 and in U 19 Rajan Kushwaha of Class 10 all got Bronze medals. Bhagwan Singh, coach of the young judokas said, “It’s a matter of pride for us that our judokas performed so well in a very competitive environment. During the preparation, we had worked hard on the judokas’ strength and conditioning.” Sabeeha Dhillon Mangat, Chief Coordinator, I S Dev Samaj School and Loveleen Bedi, Principal of I S Dev Samaj School both congratulated and gave the young judokas their best wishes.
