Chandigarh, July 27, 2026: Chandigarh residents can now enjoy their favourite street food in a clean, hygienic environment without paying more than typical roadside prices. A new open-kitchen street food showroom, Hive Food Lobby, was inaugurated by senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon, BJP Chandigarh President Jatinder Malhotra, and Chandigarh Mayor Saurabh Joshi.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent citizens, members of the business community, and a large number of food enthusiasts.
The venture has been launched by entrepreneur Deepika Dhawan, who holds a Master’s degree from Brunel University, London. The biggest highlight of the startup is its hygienic open kitchen, where fresh street food is prepared in full view of customers. The showroom has been designed with a strong emphasis on cleanliness, food quality, and transparency while ensuring that menu prices remain comparable to those charged by street vendors.
Speaking on the occasion, Deepika Dhawan said the objective of the initiative is to offer customers the perfect combination of authentic taste, hygiene, and affordability. She said that given the growing popularity of street food, people now have the option of enjoying their favourite dishes without worrying about hygiene or food safety.
The dignitaries present at the event appreciated the initiative, describing it as a positive step towards promoting safe and hygienic food practices in the city. They said the concept has the potential to redefine Chandigarh’s street food culture by providing consumers with a cleaner and more reliable dining experience while retaining the authentic flavours and affordable pricing associated with traditional street food.
