Hyderabadi Cost and Management Accountant(CMA) Dr.PVS Jagan Mohan Rao elected as VP of SAFA

Hyderabad, December 22, 2017: Hyderabad Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) Dr. PVS Jagan Mohanb Rao elected for the Vice President of South Asian Federation of Accountants(SAFA), disclosed CMA Sanjay Gupta, President of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, a national body under an act of Parliament in a press note issued in Hyderabad today

CMA Dr. PVS Jagan Mohan Rao, Council Member unanimously elected in the just held Council Meeting of the Institute held at New Delhi

He will take over the responsibilities with effect from 1st January, 2018.

SAFA is an international body of Cost & Management Accountants and Chartered Accountants in the SAARC Region. SAFA as a forum of professional accountancy bodies is committed to positioning, maintaining and developing the accountancy profession in South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) Region and ensuring its continued eminence in the world of accountancy; in the public interest and towards broad economic development of the region.

The member bodies of SAFA represent the Ten Professional accountancy bodies in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Maldives. These include The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladeshl The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh; The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India; The Institute of Cost Accountants of India; The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal; Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan; The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan; The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka; The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka and The Certified Practicing Accountants of Maldives

SAFA represents over 300000 accountants having membership of the national chartered accountancy and cost and management accountancy institutions in the South Asian countries namely Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

CMA Dr PVS Jagan Mohan Rao is already holding position of Chairman of Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) Committee of SAFA and a Member of PAIB Committee of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) from India.

CMA Dr PVS Jagan Mohan Rao was Chairman of Hyderabad Chapter for the period 1994-95 and former Chairman of SIRC for the period 1999-2000. He is present Central Council Member from Telangana State.
