Hyderabad, February 16, 2026: Hyderabad will host the ICCA Global Summit 2027, the biennial global forum of the International Corrugated Case Association (ICCA), in January 2027, marking the first time in the association’s 64-year history that this prestigious summit will be held in India. This milestone coincides with India assuming the ICCA Chair and represents a defining moment for Telangana and the nation’s rapidly expanding corrugated packaging industry.
The announcement was made at a press conference held at the FTCCI (Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry) by ML Agarwal, Chairman of the ICCA Board of Directors; Ankit Agarwal, India Director on the ICCA Board and President-Elect of the Federation of Corrugated Box Manufacturers of India (FCBM); Eleni Despotou, President and CEO of ICCA, Director General of FEFCO, and Secretary General of CITPA and Prasad Pendyala, Technical Chairman for the ICCA Global Summit.
A curtain-raiser event for the summit is scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on February 18, 2026. Minister for IT Govt of Telangana, Mr. Sridhar Babu and IT Secretary Sanjay Kumar will be guests. 
Founded in 1961 and headquartered in the United States, ICCA is the global apex body representing the corrugated packaging industry, promoting sustainable, recyclable, and innovative packaging solutions worldwide.
Hyderabad will host three landmark industry events in January 2027, positioning the city as a global hub for eco-friendly packaging.
The first is the ICCA Global Summit 2027, which will bring together international industry leaders, policymakers, and technology experts to deliberate on sustainability, automation, innovation, and global collaboration in corrugated packaging.
The second is the FCBM CorruPack Summit 2027, the annual flagship conference of FCBM, representing over 3,000 manufacturers with industry sales exceeding US$ 8.9 billion. Hosted by ACCT, this platform has evolved into India’s most influential corrugated packaging forum, fostering policy dialogue and industry collaboration.
The third event is the CorruPack International Expo 2027, a world-class exhibition showcasing cutting-edge machinery, advanced technology, sustainable materials, and next-generation packaging solutions. The expo is expected to feature more than 250 global exhibitors, over 1,500 delegates, and 300 international industry leaders, serving as a vibrant B2B marketplace promoting technology transfer and investment.
In a matter of immense pride for Telangana, two Hyderabad-based industry leaders currently hold top positions in ICCA’s global leadership.
ML Agarwal, Chairman of Central India Packaging, has been elected Chairman of the ICCA Board of Directors, becoming the first Indian in the association’s 64-year history to hold this prestigious position.
Ankit Agarwal, Managing Director of Central India Packaging, serves as India Director on the ICCA Board and is also President-Elect of FCBM. Their collective efforts have been instrumental in securing Hyderabad as the host city for the ICCA Global Summit 2027.
Eleni Despotou, President and CEO of ICCA and Director General of FEFCO, brings extensive international experience, having previously served in senior roles with industry associations, the European Commission, and the United Nations (UNHCR). Her presence at the Hyderabad press conference underscores the global significance of the summit.
India’s corrugated packaging industry, valued at approximately ₹55,000 crore, is among the fastest-growing globally. The global corrugated packaging market, valued at USD 170.96 billion in 2024, is projected to reach USD 179.5 billion in 2025, growing at a CAGR of 5.1% through 2030. India’s domestic market, currently valued at USD 7.8 billion, is expected to reach USD 18.6 billion by 2033, growing at a CAGR of 9.6%, driven by e-commerce, FMCG, food, pharmaceuticals, electronics, and organised retail sectors.
