Hyderabad Runners Society organised 5K Fun Run at Hitex Exhibition center today

Hyderabad, August 27 2022: As Hyderabad gears up for the 11th Edition of NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2022 powered by IDFC FIRST Bank on 28th August, newbie runners revelled in the 5K Fun Run that was flagged off today at the Hitex Exhibition Center, Madhapur. 

Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary, IT and E&CD, Govt. of Telangana flagged off the 5K Fun Run at Hitex Exhibition Center, Madhapur in the presence of Amitava Mukherjee, Director (Finance) NMDC, Naarayan T V, Chief Marketing Officer, IDFC FIRST Bank along with organising team Hyderabad Runners Society.

Over 5000 runners assembled at the Hitex Exhibition Center, Madhapur at 7:00 am today morning for the 5K Fun Run, which also happened to be a curtain raiser for Hyderabad’s flagship annual running event, Hyderabad Marathon. 

The organising committee of Hyderabad Runners Society, introduced the 5K Fun Run encouraging novice runners, children as well as adults, to discover the joy of running and also be part of the premier annual event. It also had enthusiastic runners come in colorful costumes and supporting number of NGOs social causes. 

It also culminated 8 - week long training, conducted across twin cities with a program named Kouch to 5K. This initiative of Hyderabad Runners brings in people from various walks of life to take up heathy lifestyle into their routine.

The annual sporting extravaganza NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2022 powered by IDFC FIRST Bank to be held tomorrow, On August 28, 2022, celebrating sports and healthy life, will kick off the Full Marathon (42.195 kms) and Half Marathon (21.095 kms) at 5:00 am and 6:00 am respectively at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road and 10K Run will be flagged off at 7:00 am at the Hitex Exhibition Center.
