HUCTA delegation submits a memorandum to the Chief Minister Nayab Saini; demands expedited processing of the Job Security Bill for Contractual University Teachers

Chandigarh, March 7, 2026: A delegation of the Haryana Universities Contractual Teachers Association (HUCTA) met with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini at Sant Kabir Kutir in Chandigarh and submitted a memorandum demanding timely and expeditious completion of the Service Security Bill related to job security for contractual university teachers.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini took cognizance of the matter and directed the concerned senior officials to expedite and timely process the Job Security Bill.

HUCTA State President Dr. Vijay Malik and Dr. Suman Ranga said that the expedited processing of the Service Security Bill for approximately 1,400 contractual assistant professors working in the state's government universities is expected to result in a positive decision in the upcoming Assembly session or Cabinet meeting. They said that this would pave the way for contractual teachers of the university to receive service security until the retirement age of 60, similar to contract teachers of other educational institutions, including colleges, schools, and polytechnics.

Delegation members Dr. Neha Sharma and Dr. Amit Malik also said that the provision of service security would eliminate the long-standing fear of job insecurity among contractual teachers of universities.
