HPU to be first university in North to introduce IEMS in North India: Dr. Awasthi

Dharamsala, October 30, 2013: Himachal Pradesh University HPU is all set to introduce total computerisation of its examination system. Referring this in Dharamsala on Wednesday, Dr. Narender Awasthi, Controller of Exams of HPU said, “HPU shall be the first university in North to introduce Integrated Examination Management System (IEMS) in North India. The system shall be made partially operational next year.”

Awasthi informed that this is a Cambridge University module system and with its implementation total examination system will become foolproof. He said , “The result could be declared within a couple of days after the completion of written papers, as the checking of answer sheets shall also be done on line ,and can be done anywhere in the world.” Under the operation all the answer sheets shall be scanned, and the machine will do it at the speed of 30,000 pages per hour.

Dr. Awasthi said that the system is to be installed in the university and all the affiliated colleges on built, operate and transfer (BOT) System and shall be handed over to HPU after 7 years. He said that tendering for IEMS, is at its final stage. www.cityairnews.com
