HPCA Reviews Preparations Ahead of IPL Matches in Dharamsala

Dharamsala, April 25, 2026: The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) convened a key preparatory meeting at the HPCA Cricket Stadium on Saturday to review arrangements for the upcoming Indian Premier League matches.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Kangra district administration led by the Deputy Commissioner, representatives of Punjab Kings, and members of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Discussions focused on logistical planning, inter-agency coordination, and measures to ensure the smooth conduct of matches scheduled next month.
Dharamsala, the second home venue of Punjab Kings, will host three league-stage fixtures in mid-May:
May 11: Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals
May 14: Punjab Kings vs Mumbai Indians
May 17: Punjab Kings vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru
The HPCA Stadium, situated against the back drop of Dhauladhar mountain range, is among the highest-altitude international cricket venues. A total of 14 IPL matches have been played here up to the 2025 season, with the first match hosted on April 16, 2010.
Match data indicates the venue generally favours high-scoring games, with a slight advantage for teams batting first. The highest team total recorded at the ground is 241/7 by Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Punjab Kings in 2024, while the lowest is 116 by Punjab Kings against Deccan Chargers. The highest individual score at the venue is 106 by Adam Gilchrist, and the best bowling figures are 4/9 by Amit Mishra.
According to ground officials, the pitch typically offers good pace and bounce, assisting fast bowlers, while the true bounce and quick outfield also benefit batters.
Punjab Kings have played 14 matches at this venue, winning five, losing eight, with one match ending without a result.
