Hours after Bharat Bhushan Ashu’s meeting, MC officials start repair of city roads

Cabinet Minister Ashu had directed officials to complete repair of all city roads within a week

Ludhiana, September 28, 2021: Hours after Bharat Bhushan Ashu’s meeting with  senior MC officials, the repair of roads have started in the city. Today morning, Punjab Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu had directed the MC officials to repair all city roads within a week else face action.

MC Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal informed that repair work has started on Ferozepur Road, Kaka Marriage Palace Road, PAU Road, Pavitter Nagar, Jagraon Bridge, besides several other areas of the city.

He said that following directions by Punjab Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, all concerned MC officials have been directed to complete repair of all city roads within a week. He said that a roadmap has been prepared following which responsibility of concerned officer would be fixed in case he fails to discharge his duty effectively.

It is pertinent to mention that Bharat Bhushan Ashu had today warned the MC officials to repair all city roads within a week, else face action. He had also directed the MC Commissioner to serve show cause notices to those MC officials, who, despite having adequate funds and material for repair of roads, had failed to repair them.

Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal assured that all city roads would be repaired as per the roadmap within a week.
