Horticulture Division of Panjab University organises plantation drive

Chandigarh, July 14, 2016: The Horticulture Division of Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh organised a plantation drive today in PU South Campus to celebrate the Van Mahotsav. About 30 Arjuna trees were planted on this occasion.
The faculty members, non-teaching employees and students of the University participated in this drive with great enthusiasm. NSS volunteers under the able guidance of Mrs.Vandana Sharma, Coordinator, NSS also participated in this plantation drive. Among other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Prof Navdeep Sharma, Dr. Vijay Lakshmi and Dr. Sanjeev Gautam.
The Horticulture Division under the leadership of Er. Anil Thakur, Divisional Engineer (Hort.) has organised such drives in the past to give message of environment protection to masses with a great success. Divisional Engineer (Hort.) apprised those present on this occasion with the medicinal properties of Arjuna tress and also motivated the students to come forward for such causes.
