Horizon School Of Excellence successfully concluded its vibrant Summer Camp 2025

Horizon School of Excellence, a unique initiative of Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust and Shri Gow Rakshni Sabha, that provides quality education to children from underprivileged sections of the society, organised a fun-filled summer camp for the children of classes Pravesh Vatika to IV before their much awaited summer break.

Ludhiana, June 4, 2025: Horizon School of Excellence, a unique initiative of Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust and Shri Gow Rakshni Sabha, that provides quality education to children from underprivileged sections of the society, organised a fun-filled summer camp for the children of classes Pravesh Vatika to IV before their much awaited summer break.

It was planned with a lot of enjoyable activities that culminated into an enriching experience designed to spark creativity, learning, and laughter among young minds. Held before the summer break, the camp welcomed enthusiastic students for a wide variety of hands-on activities that encouraged exploration and teamwork.

Highlights included creating a miniature garden that adorned the school parapets, art and craft, flameless cooking, art with terracotta, Creativity and Crafts by Kalla Vision, fun games, karate, life skills training, and energetic dance sessions that had everyone moving to the beat.

A student’s parent happily shared her art and craft skills with the students encouraging parent participation in the learning process.

“Our goal was to offer a safe and stimulating environment where children could learn through play and discovery,” said the Principal of Horizon School of Excellence. “We’re proud to see our students gaining confidence and having fun in such meaningful ways.”

The life skills sessions from buttoning to folding clothes to washing undergarments helped children develop essential values like teamwork, empathy, and self-discipline, while activities like flameless cooking encouraged independence and creativity. The robot dance and karate lessons were especially popular, bringing a unique blend of technology and discipline to the mix. A joyful showcase of science experiments by class IV students along with their teachers, where children presented what they learned to their batchmates and staff.

A special assembly, which included reciting of a shabad was conducted to pay homage to Guru Arjun Dev Ji on his Martyrdom. The principal of the school, Mrs. Jasdeep Kaur shared the relevance of the day with the students.

The purpose of organizing the summer camp was to offer a break from traditional academics while still engaging students in educational experiences, such as life skills, fun games and craftwork, that stimulate curiosity and innovation and to help children build friendships, improve communication skills, and develop empathy by interacting with peers in a relaxed setting. The event was a testament to the school’s commitment to holistic education and joyful learning.
