Home Science Students Showcase Creative Excellence and Entrepreneurial Spirit at Science Fest “Biorythm 2026”
The students of Government Home Science College proudly showcased their talent and entrepreneurial spirit at the Science Fest “Biorythm 2026” organized by GGDSD College on March 2,2026. The event proved to be a grand success for the college, as students actively participated in various competitions and brought laurels through their outstanding performances.

Chandigarh, March 3, 2026: The students of Government Home Science College proudly showcased their talent and entrepreneurial spirit at the Science Fest “Biorythm 2026” organized by GGDSD College on March 2,2026. The event proved to be a grand success for the college, as students actively participated in various competitions and brought laurels through their outstanding performances.
Arushi and Monika M.Sc. Home Science- (Clothing & Textiles, Semester II) secured First Prize in Rangoli Making, while Sharishthi and Anaya (M.Sc. Clothing & Textiles, Semester II) clinched First Prize in Face Painting. Shifa (B.Sc. Home Science, Semester IV) won Third Prize in Pot Painting, and Prabhgun M.Sc.-Home Science (Foods & Nutrition, Semester II) achieved Third Prize in Poster Making.
More than 25 students actively participated in a wide range of events including Science Quiz, Rangoli, PowerPoint Presentation, Poster Making, Face Painting, T-shirt Painting, and the organization of food stalls. The entrepreneurial spirit of the students was also evident in the food stalls set up during the fest. One group offering Salsa Chips and Mojitos recorded impressive sales exceeding ₹12,000, while another group serving a Dahi Bhalla and Iced Tea combo achieved sales of over ₹6,000.
Appreciating the students’ commendable performance, Principal Prof. Sudha Kalyal congratulated the participants and added that such achievements reflect the dedication, creativity, and scientific temperament of students .Participation in such events enhance their confidence, innovation, and teamwork skills.
The event turned out to be highly rewarding and memorable. The enthusiastic participation and remarkable achievements of the students brought immense pride to the college and highlighted their commitment to excellence.
