Home Science College tops amongst city colleges fourth time in a row in NIRF India Rankings

Chandigarh, July 15, 2022: lt is a proud moment for Government Home Science College , Sector 10 , Chandigarh as the college has been ranked 46th at National Level and has topped amongst all the colleges in tricity, fourth time in a row, in NIRF India Rankings released by Ministry of Education,GOI. It was announced today i.e. on July 15,2022, by Honourable Education Minister Sh. Dharmendra Pradhan.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework, Ministry of Education,GOI ranks the institutes depending on their areas of operation in the categories of overall, university, colleges, engineering, management, pharmacy, law, medical, architecture, dental and research. 

Government Home Science College showed a tremendous jump in its position from 78 th rank attained last year in 2021 to 46th rank this year. The college has been successful in attaining its position in top 100 consecutively for the last three years and this year it’s been a moment of all the more pleasure and pride as the college has attained its position in first 50 ranks at national level.

It is the only college in Government and Private colleges in tricity which could secure a position in top 50 at National Level. For rankings, colleges were evaluated under the categories of Teaching Learning Resources, Graduation Outcome, Perception, Outreach and Inclusivity and Research and Professional Practice.

Principal Prof Sudha Katyal congratulated the students, teaching faculty and staff for this remarkable and distinguished achievement. Dr. Katyal attributed this success to hard work and dedication of the entire Home Science team. She further added that the college will continue to excel in all fields and work tirelessly towards its motto of " Knowledge for Service".
