Jalandhar, July 24, 2026: The Student Welfare Committee of Doaba College organized Deeksha Aarambh -Holy Hawan Yajna to mark the commencement of the new academic session 2026.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal and College Managing Committee. He was accorded a hearty welcome by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, along with faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students of the college.
The entire college campus resonated with devotional bhajans and sacred Vedic hymns during the Hawan. The rituals of the holy Hawan were performed with full devotion, invoking divine blessings for peace, prosperity, and success. The sacred fire, fragrance of incense, and chanting of mantras created a serene and spiritual atmosphere. The ceremony offered prayers for the well-being of all students and staff, and marked an auspicious beginning for the freshers entering the college this year.
Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari welcomed the new students to the 85- year-old institution. He said, “This is a new chapter of your life.” He highlighted the growing importance of IT and Artificial Intelligence in today’s world. He urged students to be regular in classes, maintain discipline in life, respect elders and teachers, and imbibe good character and values.
In his Presidential Address, Sh. Chander Mohan told the freshers that teachers are not here only to teach, but also to guide them. He remarked, “The college can give you wings, but to fly is up to you.” He encouraged students to set clear goals in life and to stay informed about developments in the nation and the world. He stressed the need to gather all kinds of knowledge to become responsible citizens.
The holy ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by the Event Coordinator, Prof.Sujeet Kaur, followed by the distribution of holy prasad to all.
