HMV organized one day workshop

Jalandhar, April 27, 2015: The PG Department of Bioinformatics of Hans Raj Mahila Mah Vidyalaya organized a one day workshop on Linux Essentials for Bioinformatics. Balraj Singh working in Vatas Infotech as Linux Server, DBA and network admin was the resource person.  Introduction to Linux operating system, its installation basic command, line system and useful applications in Linux especially Bioinformatics tools like MEME, Pymol, Autodock etc. was given by Balraj Singh and Harpreet Singh, Head Bioinformatics Department.

Principal Dr. Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj inspired the students to participate in such technical workshops to enhance their skills and practical knowledge.  The students, research scholars and faculty from various institutions like GNDU Amritsar, BBK DAV College for women, Amritsar, DAV College Jalandhar, KMV Jalandhar attended the workshop.  Bioinformatics faculty members Purnima and Shallu Kalia were present on this occasion.  Kiranjit Kaur, Jagjit Bhatia, Dr. Mani Sharma, Dr. Nitika Arora, Sangeeta Kapoor, Ashish Chadha and Amrinder were also present.
