HMV celebrating National Science Week 

Jalandhar, February 18, 2022: Under  the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (Celebrating 75th year of Indian Independence), Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya is celebrating the glorious week called Vigyan Servatra Pujyate National Science Week from 22-28 February, 2022 in association with office of PSA (Principal Scientific Advisor), Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India and Vigyan Prasar. HMV is organizing this week with the support of Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST). HMV is identified as one of the 75 locations all over India for celebrating this week.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Mrs. Ajay Sareen told that this 7 day Science Festival is going to be a Gala Event. On 22nd February, during inaugural session, Dr. Garima Gupta, Deptt. of Biotechnology, Govt. of India and Dr. Neelima Jerath, Director General, Pushpa Gujral Science City will be the Chief Guest. DEO Dr Harinder Pal and Deputy DEO Mr. Rajiv Joshi will be the Guest of Honour. There will be a lot more attractions for the students like Poster Exhibition depicting history of Indian Scientists and Milestones so far achieved in Science & Technology, Book Fair, Film Show on Science & Technology, Exhibit of Innovation Gallery, etc. The students will underage experiential Sensations of Chemistry, Wonders of Physics, Beauty of Botany, Biodiversity, Handshake with Bioinformatics & Hans on Training in Innovation Hub. There will be science literature fest, special program for physically challenged & small kids too. There will be various competitions for school & college students like Poster Competition, Scientific Rangoli, Fancy Dress Competition, Poetry Competition, Story writing Competition, Power Point Competition & Idea Pitching. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for each event. Trophy will be awarded to Best Performing School, College & University. 
Convener of the event Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal said that we are going to have experts talks too. On 22nd February, tere will be expert talk by Dr. Garima, Scientist ‘F’, DBT, New Delhi. On 23rd February, Dr. Guruvinder Singh, SCL, Chandigarh will deliver his talk. Dr. P.K. Ahluwalia Retd. Prof. H.P. University, Shimla, President Indian Association of Physics Teacher will also deliver his talk on 23rd February on 24th February, Dr. Suman Singh, Principal Scientist, Head Materials Science and Sensor Application, CSIR-CSIO Chandigarh will deliver her talk. On 25th February, Dr. Arun Khosla, Professor, Deptt. of Electronics & Comm. Engg. NIT, Jalandhar will address the students. On 25th February, Mr. Shibananda Dash, CEO, NITJ will share his views. During valedictory on 28th February, Presiding Guest Dr. Adarsh Pal Vig, Chairman, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Chandigarh will deliver his talk.
Coordinators of the Event Dr. Neelam Sharma, Dr. Seema Marwaha and Dr. Anjana Bhatia told that the School, College, University students will visit the college campus from 23rd to 27th February, between 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m The faculty members of other institutions, academicians & entrepreneurs will also visit the campus.
Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen told that the motive of this programme is to celebrate the achievements of Science & Technology in 74 years & to encourage our young generation by putting the wonders of science before them.
