HIRD Director Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan urges Youth to make service, leadership, communication skills, and moral values an integral part of their lives
Nising, January 5, 2026: Mere bookish knowledge is not enough for success; youth must develop their personalities to be influential, disciplined, and socially useful. This is essential for achieving great heights in life. These views were expressed by Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, Director of the Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD). He was addressing the students as the chief guest at the closing session of the seven-day National Service Scheme (NSS) program at the Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary School, Nising.
Chief Guest Dr. Chauhan, while making students and teachers aware of the importance of the official language, Hindi, said that Hindi is not just a language, but the foundation of our culture, values, and identity. Only through Hindi, we can remain connected to our roots, and therefore, Hindi should be further strengthened in the education system.
He emphasized the role of youth in nation-building, and said that programs like the NSS instill in them a sense of service, leadership, and responsibility. The chief guest Dr. Chauhan called on the youth to make service, leadership, communication skills, and moral values an integral part of their lives. He said that sensitivity to society and positive thinking lay the foundation of a strong nation. Such programs play a vital role in developing students into aware, dutiful, and responsible citizens.
Principal Rajendra Singh and Program Coordinator Sube welcomed Dr. Chauhan with garlands. Guest of Honour, Sushil Kumar Singla, also a social worker and entrepreneur, demanded the reconstruction of the school building and the transfer of the veterinary hospital land to the school. Taking note of the demand, Dr. Chauhan assured that he would discuss with MLA Bhagwan Das Kabir Panthi and Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda the possibilities of relocating the veterinary hospital to the Gram Panchayat area and expanding the school building.
