Bhadso/Indri, January 9, 2026: The National Service Scheme (NSS) is not just a program, but a laboratory for the personality development of young people. The National Service Scheme develops a sense of service, cooperation, discipline, and social responsibility among students. These views were expressed by Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, Director of the Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD). He was addressing the concluding session of the seven-day NSS camp organized at Government Senior Secondary School, Bhadso, as the chief guest. Principal Vandana and NSS District Coordinator Suba Singh warmly welcomed the chief guest by presenting him with a bouquet of flowers.
HIRD Director Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan said that understanding the real problems of society and coming forward to solve them is true education. He urged the youth to adopt the mantra of "Not Me, But You" in their lives and work for the needy people around them. Only when the youth start thinking for society does the country become strong and self-reliant.
Dr. Chauhan advised the youth to stay away from social evils like drug addiction, laziness, and negative thinking, saying that if today's youth channel their energy in the right direction, no goal is impossible. He emphasized that character building is extremely important along with education. Discipline, hard work, and positive thinking lead to the progress of the individual, society, and the nation. He appealed to the students to move away from the world of mobile phones and superficiality and resolve to do something meaningful in real life.
Chief Guest, Dr. Chauhan specifically emphasized the education of girls, saying that the government has provided many schemes and facilities for the education, safety, and self-reliance of girls. Now it is the responsibility of the girls to take full advantage of these opportunities and move forward to achieve something significant.
