Hindustan Power achieves distinction of aiding 6000 beneficiaries over last 7 years in its eye camp

New Delhi, August 30, 2019: Hindustan Power has created a visible impact on thousands of lives in the region of Anuupur, Madhya Pradesh through its various initiatives.
One of the key interventions in the Anuppur District is Project Drishti, where a large scale EYE screening camps are conducted across the region. This programme conceptualised under the personal attention of Ratul Puri, Chairman, Hindustan Power has grown over the period of time. From basic eye testing in the past, now the eye camps have specialists treating the people along with providing basic medication and spectacles, if needed. Jointly organized with the District Health Department under Central Government’s ‘’National Programme for Control of Blindness” scheme, this flagship programme has reduce eye problem in the area.
Speaking on this programme, the Programme Head –Mohammad Asif says, “The vision of our chairman, Ratul Puri was very clear. He wanted to enable access to good eye care for the people in the region. With that objective in mind, we conceptualized the project to bring eye care awareness and provide the assistance at no cost to them. We have organized multiple camps for the benefit of the people in the region. We visit the houses to conduct eye screening and then advised them. We encourage them to visit the eye camps to receive treatment for special and or advanced problems. Our Chairman, Ratul Puri was clear that the people visiting the eye camps should not have to pay for anything including medicines and spectacles. We are also creating awareness on eye donation also as we believe that Life would undergo a change of appearance if you donate your eyes because beauty also lies in the eye of the giver.”
