Himachali Tourism start-up NotOnMap bags NSIF Award 2019

Dharamshala,November 6, 2019:A Himachali community-based tourism start-up, NotOnMap (NoM) with headquarters in the remote district of Chamba, has added one more feather to its hat after having emerged as winners of NASSCOM Foundation’s Social Innovation Forum (NSIF) award today in a glittering event in Bangalore.
Committed to promote community based responsible tourism, Not-on-Map has been working to identify upcoming tourist destinations, preserving the cultural assets, facilitating the travellers to access these locations. This is done through community oriented approach in order to ensure that rural folks earn livelihood - especially women, and those from marginalized communities to empower them and provide tourists a once-in-a-lifetime experience. As of now more than 140 destinations throughout India have been developed impacting communities decisively.
Earlier this year, NoM was adjudged the second position as a promising start-up in Global travel industry identified by Booking.com at Amsterdam in the month of May. Kumar Anubhav, the founder of NoM, who received the award, said on phone, “Achievements like this will certainly give a boost to our efforts towards providing authentic experience to discerning travellers, preserving heritage and supporting communities at the same time.”
10 organizations were selected across different categories out of 1500 applicants through a rigorous selection criteria and due diligence NotOnMap was winner in its ‘Other Social Innovation category’. This Award was given by CEO NASSCOM Ashok, Vice President Nasscom and Co-founder of Mindtree Krishna Kumar.
