Dharamsala, September 30, 2013: Sangla valley in Himachal Pradesh would have a modern sewerage system.
A sewerage scheme for tribal village Sangla was started during the tenure of Congress, but the erstwhile BJP government failed to launch it, this was indicated by Himachal CM Vir bhadra Singh during his tribal area visit on Sunday. Singh said this while addressing a rally at Sangla and stressed the project would be completed soon and made operational. The chief minister also directed Irrigation and Public Health Department to conduct a feasibility study of an irrigation scheme for Sangla by lifting water from Kharogla Khudd.
The chief minister said that state government is considering restoration of TD (Timber Distribution) rights to tribal people too. Suggestions have been sought from people for taking an appropriate decision in this regard.
Directing Gram Panchayats to check random, haphazard and unauthorised construction of houses along roads and ensure all construction was done as per guidelines of the Town and Country Planning Separtment, the chief minister said this would help in smooth operation of traffic besides boosting tourism activities.
