Dharamsala, November 26, 2013: The selection of Indian Cricket team for South Africa tour has raised few eye brows for ignoring the deserving players this time. One such players is ex Indian opener Gautam Gambhir who scored a brilliant 153 runs on a 'green top' wicket at Roshanara Cricket Club, has been completely overlooked. Gambhir has scored 372 runs at an average of 74.40 in 3 matches that he played so far in Ranji Trophy in the current Ranji season. Some big names of the BCCI gallery comment over this.

Former India opener Chetan Chauhan said, ''I simply fail to understand the logic of not picking Gambhir for the tour. His experience at the top would have helped India in a tough tour like South Africa. He averages almost 45 in Test cricket and almost 75 in domestic cricket this season. Murali Vijay hasn't done anything great for India that he needs to be retained.”

Former India player Maninder Singh said, "This is simply not on. How can the selectors ignore Gambhir like this? He is proven high caliber match winner. He was out of team only because he was not getting big scores. Now that he has got them, why he has been ignored. "
