Chandigarh, November 27, 2025: Himachal FC, powered by Minerva Academy FC and making their maiden appearance in the prestigious U18 Elite Youth I-League, began their campaign with a spirited performance, holding state rivals Himalayan Kinnaur FC to a hard-fought 1–1 draw. The match was contested at Himachal FC’s home ground at Minerva Academy.
The club earned their promotion to this season’s elite competition after finishing runners-up in the U-17 Himachal League 2024–25. In their debut group, they faced formidable opponents including defending champions Punjab FC, former winners Minerva Academy FC, along with Corbett FC, Real Kashmir FC, and Sri Dashmesh Martial SA.
Himachal FC displayed composure and tactical discipline from the outset. Their breakthrough came in the 52nd minute when captain Salam Mahesh converted a well-crafted team move to hand the hosts a crucial lead. However, Himalayan Kinnaur FC responded strongly and netted the equalizer later in the second half, ensuring a tight finish at 1–1.
